Abstinence and Sex Education.Which is Best in school?

January 22nd marked the 35th Anniversary for the Roe V Wade U.S. Supreme Court Decision that legalized Abortion nationwide. So pause and celebrate the victory over our reproductive Freedoms. The Roe v. Wade decision held that a woman, with her doctor, could choose abortion in earlier months of pregnancy without restriction, and with restrictions in later months, based on the right to privacy.

Unfortunately, many politicians and ideologues in this country are still trying to take away the rights that allow us to determine whether and when to have children. And the worst part is, the battle isn’t just being waged over abortion, but over access to contraception and medically accurate sex education, too — the very things that help prevent unintended pregnancies and reduce the need for abortion.

Studies show that Sex Education is the best way to reduce teen pregnancies in America. If this is true than why is there a huge push for Abstinence education in this country. It seems like another attack on the Separation of Church and state. Since my beliefs don't curtail abstinence before marriage I believe I have the right to be educated on sex so I know how to protect myself and how to enjoy myself in a safe manner had I chose to have underage sex.
