How to Neutralize A Salty Stew
(1/1)
Still Waters:
Add mashed potato flakes to the stew. This will also thicken your sauce and you may need to add some water. This is the only remedy that has worked for me, but I have used it hundreds of time without fail.
You could also try a pinch of sugar. Adding something acidic like wine helps to neutralize salt, and to a beef stew, add some salt-free tomato sauce. While adding something acidic may decrease the taste of salt, the salt is not taken away by the acid. Take a little wheat dough (aata) and add it in the stew. It will quickly take the excess salt and you will not get the taste of wheat dough in your dish.
