Share the (Spiritual) Wealth

Religious services and observances are important parts of many peoples’ lives. But what if your partner doesn’t want to participate with you? Should you lead separate spiritual lives, try to convert him, or break up? Is there a way to stay together even though you don’t pray together?

Like most things that involve the variables of two people with two cultures and two upbringings, the answer is sometimes yes, sometimes no.

But let’s be clear on one thing. Trying to convert someone who doesn’t want to be converted will have disastrous results. It will create resentment, anger and a host of other feelings that will lead to an unsatisfying relationship, or even a breakup. If you feel that strongly about the observance of your faith, you’d be better served by dating only people within it.
