The early part of the 20th century is called the Edwardian era, a time when women's clothing began to change from the former Victorian period. The tight fitting corset went out of style to be replaced by the new S bend corset, supposedly healthier and more comfortable.

Edwardian styles were sleek and elegant featuring high necks and beautiful fabrics.
